How your donations helped the Spear family
Your donations allowed us to send the Spear family away to north wales for a short break. Here is their story:-
After a very stressful journey to wales on a bank holiday Monday - we were greeted by a smiling couple and their lovely daughter, who kindly showed us up to our holiday apartment. After being awestruck by the elegance of the flat, I panicked slightly having a very creative and clumsy 4 year old in residence for nearly a week, amongst all of this cream and beige. The gods were on our side however and Amber was spellbound with her bedroom especially the fact that it was ram packed with comic books filled with superheroes and supervillains, she was especially impressed with the 60's Batman box set, and we struggled to drag her out of the apartment to enjoy the sunshine and the sand and sea. The lovely couple had stocked up on tea bags and milk so I got to have a lovely brew before we headed out for scampi and chips.
We were blessed again as the beach was only a stones throw away, unfortunately it appeared to have organically grown JCB's and was having a rather bizarre seagull apocalypse which forced us to venture further afield to the beaches of Llandudno where we enjoyed a day on the pier, the stunning views of great orme, a lovely plate of fish and chips and a boat-ride across the sea. We had a lovely day at the Mountain Zoo where we all enjoyed seeing the sea lions perform and looking at all the animals. We also visited a lovely beach called rhos on sea, where Amber learned the art of skimming from her father, but I have to say to the untrained eye it very much looks like lobbing rocks into the sea. We built sandcastles, collected shells, wrote Marshall and Ambers name in the sand, we even added some of our seashells to a collective sculpture of a wave and Amber blew bubbles to heaven for Marshall. Amber really enjoyed the magic show and she took us on a magical mystery tour of Colwyn bay, which was very interesting, we ended up back on the beach where amber made friends with a local boy called Benjamin who was originally from Southport which isn't very far from where we live. They played together for hours but he had to go home to bed and so did Amber. Back at the flat we ordered a lovely take away from China Garden. Which was lovely and I got a nice hot soak in the deliciously deep bath the flat has, Whilst my lovely hubby packed and put the apartment back in order. We had a lovely break and we are very grateful to the Jack K Johnstone foundation for gifting us this holiday, lots of love and thanks Maggie, Chris and Amber Spear. |
